Transportation Supervisor

Transportation Supervisor

Facilitates the efficient operation of the Transportation Department by collaborating with the Transportation Manager in a variety of ways. Duties will include assisting with scheduling, providing high-quality customer service including answering phones, documentation and organization, tracking maintenance of vehicles and performing driving duties as required.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Abides by all To The Rescue policies and procedures

·         Represents To The Rescue in a positive and professional manner

·         Efficiently manage the daily transportation schedule

·         Safety first mindset ensuring the safety and well-being of clients is top priority

·         Ensures vehicles are clean and well maintained and that all records are current

·         Assists with scheduling drivers using Simpli Transport

·         Drives To The Rescue vehicles and transports clients in the absence of adequate personnel

·         Assists manager with monitoring and updating client authorizations for waiver transportation

·         Provides timely, complete and legible documentation of all transportation assignments and complies with reporting requirements

·         Assists Transportation Supervisor with maintaining current client records which may include communicating via phone and/or email with case managers

·         Assists manager with monthly billing reports to ensure accurate and prompt payment

·         Assists manager with developing and cultivating meaning partnerships in the community

·         Partners with department managers and provides leads for other services

·         Honors all aspects of the Client Bill of Rights and adheres to confidentiality policy

·         Trains new employees and provides ongoing coaching and development

·         Maintains training records and ensures scheduled training updates are completed

·         Assists Transportation Supervisor to ensure vehicles are clean and well maintained and that all records are current

·         Honors all aspects of the Client Bill of Rights and adheres to all policies of confidentiality

·         Focuses on exceeding compliance standards

·         Assists manager with profit and loss statement

·         Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Competencies/Qualifications/Education:

·         Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems

·         Have knowledge of auditing and monitoring procedures

·         Have working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations affecting Iowa as applicable

·         Have working knowledge of privacy laws and regulations

·         Must possess strong leadership skills

·         Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and provide instruction and direction to employees on maintaining compliance with policies, rules and procedures

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office that includes Word, Excel, Outlook and the ability to learn computer programs for scheduling and timekeeping

·         Ability to respond well under pressure

·         High school diploma or equivalent

 

Work Hours:

Hours are varied depending on the needs of the organization. This may include, but is not limited to days, nights, weekends, and holidays. This position requires hours that exceed a typical 8-hour work day as needed.

Work Environment:

The work environment is consistent with similar office environment settings, external cleaning facilities and client homes.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear and speak. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Travel:

Frequent travel within a 25-mile radius is expected for this position. Occasionally travel beyond a 25-mile radius may be required.
