ZZ-Staff Accountant-INACTIVE

Summary of position/Objective:
The Staff Accountant is
responsible for performing daily and month-end duties in the accounting
department and ensuring the department creates accurate and timely financial
records for the organization.
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reasonable accommodations may be

- Execute
month end and year end processes including:
- General
ledger entries
- Balance
sheet reconciliations
- Fixed
asset activity
- Financial
reporting and analysis
- Perform
all accounting functions as it relates to the Construction and Remodeling
entity. This includes:
- Accounts payable
- Job costing
- Accounts receivable and invoicing
- Payroll
processing
- Weekly
project meetings
- Financial
preparation and balance sheet reconciliations
- Monitor
and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
- Ensure
proper accounting and internal controls are in place and followed
- Improve
process and procedures and implement corrective actions
- Oversee Payee Representative
process and ensure all rules and regulations are followed
- Establish
and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions; maintain and
reconcile transactions for accounting system(s)
- Partner
with other departments by assisting with their questions and data requests
- Protect
organizations’ value by keeping information confidential; applies HIPAA
standards to all operations and ensures confidentiality of sensitive material
- Perform
other duties of a similar or related level and assists with special projects as
necessary
Competencies/Qualifications/Education:
- Ability
to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of
intellectual and practical problems.
- Four-year
degree in accounting, finance, or related degree and minimum of 2 years of
applicable experience; or a comparable combination of education and experience
- High
attention to detail and accuracy
- Must
have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively
with staff and provide instruction and direction to employees on maintaining
compliance with policies, rules and procedures
- Communication
Proficiency, Teamwork Orientation, Problem Solving Skills, Ability to work
independently and take initiative
Certificates/Licenses/Registration:
The employee shall possess a
valid driver’s license and must be eligible for the agency’s vehicle insurance
and provide proof of private vehicle coverage.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This role will not directly
supervise employees.
Work Hours:
Hours are varied depending on the
needs of the organization. Hours reflect
those of typical business hours.
Work Environment:
The work environment is
consistent with similar office environment settings.
