Manager of Day Programs & Supported Employment

Summary of Position/Objective:

The Manager of Day Programs & Supported Employment has the primary responsibility to oversee Day Programs and Supported Employment services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Ensuring compliance with all State and Federal guidelines is an integral part of the responsibilities of this position.  

The Manager of Day Programs & Supported Employment is responsible for achieving company goals as they relate to the growth of Day Programs and Supported Employment services in the greater Denver area.

The Manager of Day Programs & Supported Employment will manage all aspects related to the ongoing implementation of the IDD Services Program.  This includes but is not limited to ensuring that services delivered are compliant in all aspects with To The Rescue Policies, Colorado State Statutes, and CMS regulations. 

The ideal candidate is skilled in conflict management, has extensive leadership experience in leading a team of supervisors, is passionate about making programs successful, and has proven experience in growing and expanding programs.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and uphold To The Rescue’s values and policies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with referral agencies, various funding sources, and case management agencies/CCBs
  • Identify and maintain current information about community resources that may benefit program participants
  • Monitor and control expenses and ensure efficiency in services, including billable hours and client funding
  • Identify safety concerns and implement good safety practices
  • Always represent To The Rescue in a positive and professional manner to all clients, coworkers, families and the public
  • Make sure all required training is completed in a timely manner
  • Function effectively as a member of the Colorado Leadership Team by developing goals and objectives to maximize the independence, growth, and quality of life for our members
  • Prepare written and verbal reports as necessary to document and track the success of programs
  • Promote and adhere to all To The Rescue safety practices and policies
  • Responsible for staff training and development
  • Ensure prompt and effective communication by the Supervisors of departments
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Competencies/Qualifications/Education:

  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Have knowledge of auditing and monitoring procedures
  • Have working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations affecting Colorado, including privacy laws and regulations
  • In depth knowledge of Colorado’s Home and Community Based Services including Day Program and Supported Employment services
  • Must possess strong and proven leadership skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff and provide instruction and direction to supervisors and employees on maintaining compliance with policies, rules and procedures
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office that includes Word, Excel, and the ability to learn computer programs for scheduling and timekeeping
  • Ability to perform well under pressure
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work or related field and/or four or more years of related experience 


Certificates/Licenses/Registration:

The employee shall possess a valid driver’s license and must be eligible for the agency’s vehicle insurance and provide proof of private vehicle coverage. Required to drive all agency vehicles which include vans, 15-passenger van, and bus. 


Supervisory Responsibility:

This role directly supervises Day Program Supervisors, Day Program Employees, and Supported Employment Employees.


Work Hours:

Hours are varied depending on the needs of the organization. This may include, but is not limited to days, nights, weekends, and holidays.  On-call requirement. 


Work Environment:

The work environment is consistent with similar office environment settings.

  • While performing these duties, the employee is frequently required to speak and hear
  • While performing these duties, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle daily tasks
  • The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time
  • The employee is frequently required to reach, bend, squat, stoop and kneel  
  • The employee continuously uses hand strength to type and operate computer controls
  • The employee must frequently lift or move up to 10 pounds. Occasionally the employee will lift or move up to 50 pounds
  •  The employees will frequently push or pull items
  • Specific vision requirements include close and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus


Travel:

Frequent travel within a 25-mile radius is expected for this position. Occasionally travel beyond a 25-mile radius may be required, including out of state travel.
