Human Resources Coordinator

Summary of Position/Objective:

  • Ensures legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws and advises on required policy updates
  • Promotes development and retention as an advocate for employees and partner to the business units by identifying and clarifying issues, collaborating on potential solutions, implementing selected solutions, coaching managers and employees and facilitating positive outcomes
  • Champions diversity of thought and culture throughout the enterprise 
  • Enhances department and organizational reputation by accepting ownership of operational excellence and exploring opportunities to add value
  • Maintains strict confidentiality standards and organizational integrity
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides support in all human resource functions within the organization
  • Promotes and protects the employer brand and value proposition
  • Partners in achieving operational excellence and business plan goals
  • Provides an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, grievance matters, organizational change and all other employee-relations matters
  • Files First Report of Injury for Workers’ Compensation and assists in the management of claims and expenses
  • Participates in workers compensation health care provider visits 
  • Effectively manages leave administration
  • Assists in employee relations
  • Maintains flawless employee record management  
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify current and future critical staffing needs required to support enterprise goals
  • Recruits, screens and hires high quality talent to support the staffing needs of each department
  • Develops and executes effective full life cycle recruiting roadmaps for each department to achieve high quality hires and create talent pipelines

  • Working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of privacy laws and regulations
  • Demonstrated leadership and people development skills

  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and facilitate effective dialogue to resolve conflicts
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to think critically when managing competing priorities 
  • Ability to maintain a calm, solution-oriented focus in high pressure situations
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Ability to learn various computer programs
  • Familiarity with Google and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel

 

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations/Qualifications/Education:

  • 2 years human resources experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • PHR or similar Human Resources Certification preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and must be eligible for the agency’s vehicle insurance and provide proof of private vehicle coverage

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role will not directly supervise employees.


Work Hours:

Hours are varied depending on the needs of the organization.  This may include, but is not limited to days, nights, weekends and holidays. This position requires hours that exceed a typical 8-hour work day as needed.

 

Work Environment:

The work environment is consistent with similar office environment settings.

Travel:

Frequent travel within a 25-mile radius is expected for this position. Occasional travel beyond a 25-mile radius may be required, including out of state travel.
