Housekeeping

Department: Housekeeping and Laundry 

Reports to: Supervisor of Housekeeping and Laundry 


Hours: 

7:00 AM- 3:30 PM 

Subject to variation with prior notification and approval. 


Training/Education/License or Skill Requirements-

  • Must be able to read, write, and follow all requirements listed herein.
  • Must possess good verbal communication skills.
  • Must follow written and verbal direction from supervisor.
  • Must attend all scheduled in services unless absents is approved by supervisor. 


Requirements- 

  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills, ability to read, and understand instructions given by supervisor.
  • Must be flexible to assist with other tasks assigned by supervisor.
  • Must follow and understand all safety risks and procedures, to prevent injuries by such risks, which are listed in job description.
  • Understand disciplinary actions if proper policies and procedures are not followed.
  • Must be prompt, on time, and ready at the beginning of shift to preform duties.
  • Must follow Call in Procedure, Uniform Policy, and Housekeeping/Laundry Attendance policy, which are attached to this job description. 


Job Duties-

All new employees will be properly trained in the duties of their job, as well as hazards, risks, safety, policies, and procedures by personnel deemed competent to train. Upon completion of training new employees will sign documentation of training, one copy to new employee and one copy will reside in employees personnel file. 

  • Clean public bathrooms twice a day or upon request.
  • Clean Hydration Station.
  • Clean and vacuum resident's rooms and bathroom per Cleaning Bathrooms procedure.
  • Clean soiled utility room.
  • Clean, clean utility room.
  • Clean linen closet.
  • Clean central bath after bath is given around 2:30 pm or when nursing informs you that they are done. Clean room, mop floor, and wipe down outside of the bathtub. Wipe down walls as needed, including shower room.
  • Check bed washing schedule and dusting schedule in housekeeping closet.  Bed washing is scheduled for once a month and when completed log on  sheet. Dusting is scheduled for once a week and when completed log on sheet.
  • Clean guestrooms per schedule, daily.
  • Extract resident room carpets as needed with extractor or spot clean if possible.
  • Vacuum assigned rooms.
  • Sweep assigned areas.
